The mandate of BFS Sociedade Gestora de Fundos de Investimento, SA seeks to pool together investments from multiple investors and deploy those funds into a diversified portfolio of assets through specialist investment vehicles, with the aim of generating attractive returns for the investors, whilst realizing social and environmental impact. Our Journey.

Founded by Kauna Ndilula in 2008, Business Financial Solutions (BFS) is a Namibian company dedicated to enhancing the growth environment for small businesses. Recognizing the challenges faced by small businesses to access productive funding across Africa, BFS’ strategy has been to roll out a variety of financial instruments to mitigate such funding gap.

BFS provides comprehensive financial and non-financial solutions that have played a pivotal role in shaping SME sector policy, guiding companies through various life cycle stages, and actively participating in initiatives aimed at supporting Namibia's small business community.

Present.

BFS Gestora de Fundos de Investmento, S.A, (BFS) is a Financial Services Company based in Mozambique. The company focuses on delivering financial solutions of an alternative finance nature (non-banking) aimed at addressing the gap within the Mozambique market of flexible financing products specifically targeted to the needs of high potential but under-developed small and medium enterprises (SMEs). BFS aims to become the investment partner of choice for investors in alternative asset classes and investees seeking to maximize their growth potential.

 

To achieve this objective, BFS delivers three-product offerings:

  • Managing in-house Venture Capital (VC) and Debt Funds

  • Managing third party funds namely; public, development and private sector funds

  • Non-financial interventions geared towards improving SMEs and the SME ecosystem

BFS embraces collaboration with other players in the financial sector and seeks to enable Mozambique companies to find meaningful financial solutions through such positioning.

Equally BFS seeks to partner with local and international development agencies to enable better impact and reach of the targeted objectives.

As the first investment management firm to be licensed in Mozambique, BFS will actively inform the establishment the business case for alternative finance institutions thereby catalyzing other players to enter the market and deepen the financial market.
